Another first for Sonakshi Sinha. The actress will feature in one of Yo Yo Honey Singh’s international music video. Informs a source, “Honey wanted someone glamorous, sexy yet Indian. Sonakshi did a special video for Honey’s Party All Night in Boss. Honey selected Sona over other Bollywood actresses. This is Sonakshi’s first brush in the international circuit and she’s very excited. They will shoot the video in Los Angeles next month. Honey is currently in LA to finalise the details. Sonakshi will join him there. Honey wants to release the music video after a couple of months. The peppy song has been composed by him.”
Bollywood actor Boman Irani said he was overwhelmed with emotions when the staff of a hotel in Hong Kong revealed they were a big fan of him and his film '3 Idiots'.
The 54-year-old actor played professor Viru Sahastrabuddhe (Virus) in the 2009 hit film directed by Rajkumar Hirani, which also starred Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and R Madhavan.
"The housekeeping staff of the Ritz Carlton Hong Kong. Fans of '3 Idiots'. A favourite in these parts. Bless you Raju," Boman posted along with a photograph with the ladies.
"So much love! So much respect! It chokes you up with emotion," he added.

We bring to you 5 such Bollywood celebrities, who’s personality, fashion sense, dressing style and body language have evolved over the years. Have a look at them!
1. Kareena Kapoor:
Bebo made her debut with ‘Refugee’ opposite Abhishek Bachchan. We are sorry to say, but, she looked like a dried leaf when she first entered B-town. With delivering consequent flops like Khushi, Ajanabee, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, and Yaadein; nobody ever thought that Kareena ever be able to survive in the film industry, unlike Lolo. However, she underwent a drastic makeover post ‘Hulchul’ and her acting skills were greatly appreciated in movies like ‘Aitraaz’ and ‘Jab We Met’. After that, there was no looking back!
2. Karisma Kapoor:
Raja Hindustani, one of Bollywood’s most- loved movies, saw Karisma Kapoor and Aamir Khan in the lead roles. No wonder Karisma looked exceptionally beautiful in the film, the gorgeous actress is, even today one of the most stylish celebrity mommies of Bollywood!
3. Shilpa Shetty:
With those bushy eyebrows and dusky skin, Shilpa Shetty never thought that she would one day become a point of reference in the world of global fashion. Today, she is truly one of the flawless fashion style icons!
4. Saif Ali Khan:
If you look at Saif Ali Khan now, he looks completely different from what he looked like 10 years ago. Though his fashion sense and personality has undergone a drastic change, his acting skills and dancing style need some serious guidance!
5. John Abraham:
John Abraham hasn’t had a booming career graph in the last few years, but the actor recently created a rage with ‘Madras Cafe’. John who recently had a hush-hush wedding with his longtime girlfriend, Priya Runchal, debut in Bollywood with movies like Paap, Garam Masaala and Dhoom.
As per the latest buzz the KWK host has bagged his second film as an actor and in this one he will be playing a father. Sounds interesting, hai na?
Karan Johar is pretty serious about his acting career wethinks. While the talented filmmaker will make his acting debut with Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet, we hear the Koffee with Karan host has now signed Vikas Bahl’s next which stars Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead. Apparently, the Student Of The Year director will essay the role of a father in this film. While talking to a leading daily, a source said, “In the film, Karan will be playing a father, who is getting his son married. The wedding is organised by Shahid.” In fact, it is being said that Govinda will play Johar’s in-law in the Shahid starrer and the duo will have a comic track in the film which is about destination wedding.
But the Partner actor hasn’t accepted the offer it seems. Govinda told the leading daily, “I will be meeting Vikas soon and will then take a decision about the film.”
While Govinda is yet to sign on the dotted line, we hope Shah Rukh Khan’s close buddy has sealed the deal. Coz Karan has always been vocal about his parental instincts and after watchingTaare Zameen Par he even wanted to adopt a kid. With this film Johar will be able to live his dream of being a parent so what if it’s in reel and not real life

A source close to Armaan said, “Yes, there are a few fake accounts of Armaan on Facebook. Armaan is not on any of the social networking sites yet. So I request the fans to not fall for any of the fake status and posts on the site.”

Arjun, 28, first tweeted that he is being tutored by his sister Anshula Kapoor on how to handle his Twitter account.
Karan Johar welcomed Arjun saying, "Arjun Kapoor on twitter!" Anushka Sharma said, "Joon !! Welcome ya! Nargis Fakhri wrote, "Finally we have you on here! Welcome" Sonakshi Sinha, who is currently working with him in 'Tevar' said,
Parineeti Chopra wrote,
Arjun's 'Two States' co-star Alia Bhatt also welcomed him saying,
Sonam Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez have been friends for three years, disproving the belief that two contemporary actresses cannot be friends
It's rare for two Bollywood actresses to be friends. Which is what makes the friendship of Sonam Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez so special. Most actresses become friends during the making of their film together (Rani Mukerji-Vidya Balan in No One killed Jessica and Kangana Ranaut-Priyanka Chopra during Fashion) but once the film is over, so is the friendship. Interestingly, Sonam and Jackie have not worked together in a film. And their Dostana has lasted for over three years now.
Jab they met. Says an insider, "Sonam and Jackie met during the Mausam premiere in 2011 but they became friends when Jackie was shooting with Sonam's father Anil Kapoor in Race 2(2013). They like to hang out when they are not shooting, meet for dinners and even party together. Jackie was the only actress at Sonam's birthday party earlier this month. They share fashion and fitness with each other.
Helping a friend Sonam has introduced the actress to her best friend and designer Shahla Khan's outfits. and the Sri Lankan actress has been sporting her designs. Recently when the Kick trailer released, the Kaqoor sisters were the first to tweet and compliment Jackie on it. Sonam's younger sis Rhea Kapoor tweeted: "Hot trailer! Hotter chick!" Recently Jacqueline had a wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet. The clasp behind her Emilio Pucci outfit gave way, and Sonam covered her from the Paps and fixed it.
Family scene Farah Khan is very close to Anil and his wife Sunita Kapoor. When Jackie was dating the director's brother Sajid Khan, the Kapoor clan welcomed her into their family. Last year at the Kapoors' Diwali bash last year, Jacqueline was part of the small knit group.
Highlight Sonam: "Jackie's got a clean heart. She has no agenda whatsoever. We have the same sense of fun and values. She's part of my family now. Shehla Khan, Jackie and I are really close. I love Jacqueline a lot."
Jacqueline: "Sonam is one of the most genuine honest people I know and that's why I always wish the best for her! She's inspired me a lot with her impeccable fashion sense and dedication to her work."
Salman in Common! While Jackie will be seen with Salman Khan in her next release Kick, Sonam stars with him in Sooraj Barjatya's next.
Akshay Kumar's next four films are with actresses he has never been paired with before
Akshay Kumar loves repeating his heroines in film after film till the pair becomes stale. He has done this with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and more recently Sonakshi Sinha. But now he seems to have decided only to work with new actresses and fresh faces. a new pair is always exciting for the audiences.
In his next four films he will be seen working with new actresses. There is Shruti Hassan (Gabbar), Tamannaah Bhatia (It's Entertainment), Lisa Haydon (Shaukeen) and Kirti Sanon (Singh Is Bling).
Shruti Hassan: Triple treat 28-year old Shruti Hassan (also Kamal Hassan and Sarika's elder daughter) made acting debut in Luck (2009) with Imran Khan. She went on to act in films like Ramayya Vasthavayya and D-Day. But she could never make it to the big league. She has not acted opposite A-List actor in B-Town. But things have started looking up for her after Akshay signed a film with her. She has landed many plum projects likeAneez Bazmee's Welcome Back (with John Abraham and Anil Kapoor), Nishikant Kamat's Rocky Handsome (John Abraham again) and Tigmanshu Dhulia's Yaara (Irrfan Khan, and Vidyut Jamwal). She is suddenly on the rise.
Tamannaah Bhatia; Third time lucky? Tamannaah Bhatia (25) is a huge name in the south. She made her Bollywood debut opposite Ajay Devgan in Himmatwala (2013) directed by Sajid Khan. Her second film too was with the same director - Humshakals and it has failed to impress the critics. The directors of her third film It's Entertainment, are a new duo Sajid-Farhad. The highlight of this film is a dog. In fact he is playing a title role!
Lisa Haydon: Finally a lead part! Model-turned actress Elisabeth Marie Haydon or Lisa Haydon (28) is not a typical Hindi film heroine. She doesn't look the part and she speaks with a accent. She is unarguably one of the hottest actresses around and dances like a dream. She got tons of praise for hr last film Queen, in which she played second fiddle to Kangana Ranaut, just like she had in Rascals (2010) and Aisha mainlining Sonam Kapoor in the same year. Lisa has been recognized for her impeccable style and persona and been named as the best model and most stylish persona in Cosmopolitan Fun and Fearless Awards 2009, DNA most stylish 2009, Marie Claire best model 2010. She is playing the leading lady of Shaukeen opposite Akshay Kumar. She is now clear that she only wants to do lead roles.
Kriti Sanon: Tiger ke baad Khiladi! 24-year old Kriti Sanon made her acting debut with the Telugu psychological thriller film 1: Nenokkadine. She made her Bollywood debut in Heropanti (opposite Jackie Shroff's son Tiger). The film, made at a modest budget grossed over 50 crore. The one-film old has hit big time with a film like Singh Is Bling opposite Akshay Kumar and directed by Prabhudeva.
Akki's popular leading ladies Kareena Kapoor Khan Ajnabee (2001) Dosti (2003) Talaash (2003) Aitraaz (2004) Bewafaa (2005) Tashan (2008) Kambakht Ishq (2009).
Katrina Kaif Humko Deewana Kar Gaye(2006) Namaste London (2007) Welcome (2007) Singh Is Kiing (2008), A cameo in Blue (2009) De Dana Dan (2009) Tees Maar Khan (2010)
Sonakshi Sinha Rowdy Rathod (2012) Joker (2012) Special appearance in the song Go Go Govinda in OMG – Oh My God! (2012) Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara (2013) Special appearance in two songs - Party All Night and Har Kisi Ko in Boss (2013) Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014)
Still waiting to happen Akshay has not worked with these actresses even though they have been there the for the last few years. Rani Mukerji Parineeti Chopra Kangana Ranaut Shraddha Kapoor Yaami Gautam Nargis Fakhri
While one of Bollywood’s most successful actors, Shahrukh Khan is experiencing an ultimate high from his success of “Chennai Express” and upcoming film “Happy New Year,” it appears he has hit a bump in the road. The actor’s driver was recently arrested for raping a minor on Thursday.
Pintu Mishra was reportedly accused and taken into custody by the Bandra Police after he raped a 17-year-old at a guest house in Nalasopara railway station on June 20, on the pretext of getting her a job at Khan’s residence.
The victim worked as a domestic help at former model and actress Sangeeta Bijlani’s residence.
SRK is currently wrapping up his latest film, “Happy New Year” and is gearing up to start filming “Raees” this fall.
“Raees,” which also stars Farhan Akhtar, is an action drama film set in Gujarat where King Khan plays a bootlegger while Akhtar plays the role of a cop.
The movie will be directed by Rahul Dholakia and is produced by Sidwani and Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment.
Even though details for the shooting has been declared, the lead actresses have yet to be confirmed. There have been rumors that Sonam Kapoor would play the leading lady, however, she has no free dates as well as Katrina Kaif.
The film is expected to start filming Nov. 1 and is slated to release sometime next year.
SRK has also started preparing for “Fan” and hinted that he will be playing the biggest fan himself in the forthcoming film, which begins shooting July 2014.
The actor started working on the film, showing off his new look created by special effects makeup artist Greg Cannom, who spent a considerable amount of time working on SRK’s new identity.
“We are attempting a never-seen before look for Shah Rukh which will be both challenging for us and exciting for the viewer,” said Maneesh Sharma, director of the film. “Understandably, this will be kept under wraps till the first look of the film is revealed.”
Cannom has been nominated for nine Academy Awards and won an Oscar three times for the looks he created in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Dracula.”
Several Bollywood stars led by his singer wife Asha Bhosle remembered music legend R D Burman on his 75th birth anniversary.
Singers, actors and directors took to Twitter to pay tribute to the music maestro, who was fondly called Pancham-da. Bhosle said, "Remembering Pancham and those special moments in time that we shared."
The duo collaborated on several hit songs like 'Piya Tu Ab To Aja', 'Katra Katra', Tu Tu Hain Wahi', 'Chura Liya Hain Tumne', 'Dum Maaro Dum' among others.
Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who worked with the music director in super hit film '1942: A Love Story', paid tribute to Burman by sharing a song from the Anil Kapoor-Manisha Koirala starrer.
"Happy birthday week to Panchamda! In tribute," Chopra posted along with the link to the song 'Kuch na kaho'. Music composer Vishal Dadlani wished Panchan Da on his birthday and also shared that American rapper Timbaland is a huge fan of the late musician. "75th birthday of RD Burman, aka Pancham aka (as Timbaland referred to him when he told me what a big fan he is) RD Burns," Dadlani tweeted.
Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar said, "75 years ago today, a musical genius was born. His tunes stole our hearts & do so even now. Pancham Da, you rock! We miss you. Happy Birthday." 'Kahaani' helmer Sujoy Ghosh, a self-confessed Panchan da fan, tweeted, "Happy birthday RD Burman. May you and your music live forever."
National award-winning director Hansal Mehta remembered Burman by sharing his favourite composition of the music legend. "Monmajhi Re from the album Anyay Abichar by Bhagwan Shree R D Burman," he posted.
Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra said, "Today is the 75th birth anniversary of the legendary R D Burman. His music I love." Singers Debojit Saha, Monali Thakur and director Kunal Kohli also wished Burman on his birth anniversary.
They are just one or two-films old, but these directors have already shown a lot of potential. They are not afraid to experiment and can give the seasoned directors a run for their films. With top actors eager to work with them, these makers are on an upswing. Presenting the upcoming directors of Bollywood..
Abhishek Chaubey: He burst onto the scene with Ishqiya, a black comedy film about a conniving widow played convincingly by Vidya Balan and two con men, the brilliant Naseeruddin Shah complemented ably by Arshad Warsi. It was critically acclaimed both for the subject and the performances. Film critic Rajeev Masand said the film was unapologetically adult in its relationships, its language and its humour. "The film sparkles for its inspired writing and uncompromised direction," he wrote. That set the tone for Abhishek's second film too. The sequel of Ishqiya, Dedh Ishquiya marked the comeback of Madhuri Dixit to big screen after seven years. It was hailed by critics as a 'deliciously dark film'. Not surprising, as Abhishek has his roots firmly ensconced in Vishal Bhardwaj's dark noir films, having started out as his associate director and co-writer. Abhishek has roped in Shahid Kapoor for his next untitled film that is rumoured to be a sci-fic.
Abhishek Kapoor: He has a big hand in turning Farhan Akhtar, the director into an actor. It was with his Rock On!!, that Farhan moved from behind the camera, on screen. The film also resurrected Arjun Rampal's career and fetched him a National Award. A runaway success Rock On!! proved to be a turning point for Abhishek who had forayed into Bollywood as an actor in Uff...Yeh Mohabbat that didn't do anything for his career. He then turned director with Aryan that met with a lukewarm response. After Rock On!!, however, there's been no looking back for the director who won critical acclaim and commercial success with Kai Po Che, the debut film of TV actors Sushant Singh Rajput and Amit Sadh. He is currently working on Fitoor based on Great Expectations and stars Katrina Kaif and Aditya Rao Kapoor. It also marks Rekha's comeback in the role of Miss Havisham. Abhishek has also announced a film based on the mythological epicMahabharata. From a musical to an epic story, Abhishek's come a long way.
Abhishek Verman: Karan Johar's find, Abhishek made his directorial debut with 2 States. The film starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor got mixed reviews but had an excellent opening despite two relative newcomers in the film. Declared a superhit it went on to garner Rs 100 crores. Based on Chetan Bhagat's novel by the same name, Abhishek for a debutant managed to bring the North-South cultural divide exceptionally well. Mahesh Bhatt descibes him as an outstanding writer/ director.
Karan Malhotra: He worked as an assistant director for ten years in films like Jodha Akbarand My Name Is Khan before making his directorial debut with the remake of Agneepath. The idea was not very well-received by the purists. With certain changes to the original story, like the addition of Rishi Kapoor's evil character – incidentally it was Rishi's first turn as a baddie – Karan went ahead and roped in Hrithik Roshan to reprise Amitabh Bachchan's iconic character Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. Sanjay Dutt, because of his beefy look was cast as the villain Kancha-Cheena. Sanjay's bald, menacing look was a hit since the promos started and the film went on to have the biggest opening breaking the record of Bodyguard. Hrithik who was initially reluctant to play the role was praised for his gritty performance. Karan who had only taken the basic revenge plot from the original and given it his own take, was unanimously hailed by the critics. Though dissimilar to the original it was considered a fitting tribute to the masterwork! Karan is now working on his next film Shuddhi, and like every new director harbours the desire to make a film with Bachchan. "It would be a dream come true. Without doubt it would be the high point of my career," he is quoted to have said.
Maneesh Sharma: He made his directorial debut with the delightful Band Baaja Baaraatand hasn't looked back since. A resounding success, Band Baaja Baaraat starring Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh won Maneesh several awards. His next, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahlbased on John Tucker Must Die, though, received mixed reviews and was not a box-office success either. However, his third film Shuddh Desi Romance exploring the taboo concept of live-in relationships had the critics and the trade giving it a thumbs up. Currently, the writer-director is working on his next film Fan starring Shah Rukh Khan. He will also be the first independent producer to make a film Dum Laga Ke Haisa under the YRF banner which hitherto had either Aditya or his late father Yash Chopra as producer. The film will star Ayushmann Khurrana. For Maneesh, who started as an assistant on several YRF films, life has come full circle!
Neeraj Pandey: He was an unknown writer-director who roped in acting stalwarts Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher for his debut movie, A Wednesday based on Mumbai train blasts. Opening to positive reviews, the film was a sleeper hit and won Neeraj the Indira Gandhi Award for Best Film of a Director. For his second film Special 26 based on a real-life jewellery heist he roped in Akshay Kumar to play the conman. Tight and gripping, it won critical acclaim but did not find much favour at the BO. His third outing Total Siyaapa, a cross-border love story with a twist failed to please the critics and the trade. It, however, had better luck overseas. Neeraj who keeps a low profile is producing Saat Ucchakey and has written a novel Ghalib Danger. Here's hoping the new-age director comes back with another gripping thriller!
They own the silver-screen and get the cash registers ringing. We crunch the numbers to list the top seven moneymakers in Bollywood
Aamir Khan: Perfectionist, marketing genius, brilliant actor, successful director and smart producer, all put in one. He made a successful film debut as an actor in the late eighties and had his share of hits and flops. But with Ghajini (2008), all bets were off—Aamir set the benchmark of Rs100-crore business for a film in the first week with the South remake. His next release, 3 Idiots surpassed the collections of Ghajini and with Dhoom 3, the superstar has started the Rs400 crore club making it the biggest grosser of all-time in Bollywood. While the actor chooses to do only one film in a year, he is shrewd enough to pick the right subjects and spin a success. Expectations are high from his forthcoming film, PK in which he teams with 3 Idiots director, Rajkumar Hirani. That the film will fetch over Rs100 crore is a given, the real question is will it break the record of his earlier film. As Aamir had said in an interview, ''The first step of selecting any film is emotional and truly instinctive. The second step has to be practical.'' Doesn't that say it all?
Salman Khan: Considered the Rajinikant of Hindi cinema, any film that Salman does pretty much turns into gold or in filmi parlance collects Rs 100 crores! This trend started with Wanted and since then all his films including Ready, Bodyguard, Dabangg I and II, and Ek Tha Tiger have touched the magic figure. Even Jai Ho that people felt had fallen short of expectations made Rs 110 crore becoming the first film to reach the elite club in 2014. He is the only Bolly hero to have back-to-back Rs 100 crore films, so much so that Salman and Rs 100 crore are synonymous. His next, an action thriller Kick is a Eid release and it's a known fact that Dabangg Khan and Eid release is a winning combo. And, with the trailers already becoming a talking point, there is little doubt about it becoming a money-spinner!
Shah Rukh Khan: To the Badshah of Bollywood goes the credit of ushering in the legacy of Rs 200 crore club. His Chennai Express made the fastest Rs 100-crore business and eventually Rs 200 crores. Earlier his films Ra.One and Jab Tak Hai Jaan have garnered over Rs 100 crore. Apart from being a part of the biggest all-time hits like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, which ran in a theatre for more than 18 years, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Om Shanti Om to name a few, SRK ventured into his favourite sport cricket by owning an IPL (Indian Premiere League) team, Kolkata Knight Riders that has won the trophy two times since the league started. The production house Red Chillies Entertainment he set up has been behind hits like Om Shanti Om. Apart from a few setbacks, like the TV division, which has shut down, SRK has made money with his different initiatives. Recently, he was declared the second richest actor in the world by a Wealth-X list, beating even Hollywood celebs Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise!
Ajay Devgn: Known for his macho appeal, brooding intensity and great comic timing, Ajay has four films Son of Sardaar, Singham, Bol Bachchan and Golmaal 3 in the Rs 100 crore bracket. That apart, Ajay has several hits to his credit and has maintained a balance between commercial masala films and the ones off the beaten track like Raincoat. A shrewd businessman, Ajay turned distributor with Devgan Software Private Limited. He is the first Bolly star to acquire a private jet for transport to shooting locations, promotions and personal trips. He is also the first Indian to own a Maserati Quattroporte and is said to have a fleet of high-end four wheelers. For his wife Kajol's birthday he gifted an Audi Q7 recently. His next release is Singham 2 and looking at his track record with Rohit Shetty this should be another blockbuster!
Amitabh Bachchan: The Shahenshah of Hindi cinema, Amitabh Bachchan has been giving hits long before the whole Rs 100 crore club started. Back then the film's success was measured by the number of weeks it ran in theatres and several of Bachchan's films have been golden and platinum jubilees. He has been quoted saying, "If you do a relative comparison with the films that celebrated 'jubilee weeks' in earlier days and compare their business to the rupee equivalent today, you'll find that those films earned around `300-350 crore." With Kaun Banega Crorepati, Bachchan revolutionised TV viewing. KBC was the first-of-its-kind show to offer a prize money of one crore and he also pocketed almost that amount to host the show. Now, he is set to change the game again with his acting foray on the small-screen. At 71, the baap of all superstars is not only going strong but also reinventing, himself. Hats off to the living legend!
Akshay Kumar: Action, comedy, romance - name it and Akshay Kumar has done it, with elan. Primarily known for his action films thanks to the runaway success of Khiladi that spawned a franchise with at least three more films in the series, Akshay presented a softer, romantic side in Yeh Dillagi and Dhadkan consolidated it. After going through a rough patch in the late '90s the Khiladi was back with a bang in the comedy Hera Pheri. A spate of comedy films followed, all with varying degree of success. Akshay can also be called sequel king as most his films have had sequels, Hera Pheri, Khiladi and Housefull! With Special 26, that also saw him turning a singer, Akshay won a lot of critical acclaim. Though the Khiladi's films have been money-spinners, for some strange reason only two films have made it to the 100 crore mark, Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore. His recent release Holiday is expected to touch the magic figure. He turned producer with Oh My God!, that made over Rs 70 crore. Not just commercial potboilers, Akshay is producing films off the beaten track too. An actor who has been big on promoting sports and fitness martial arts expert, Akshay hosted three seasons of Khatron Ke Khiladi and has recently bought a kabbadi team in the World Kabbadi League.
Hrithik Roshan: He had a dream launch no doubt, but Hrithik known for his Greek-God looks has proved to be an actor of great substance. From the romantic hero in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, the royal king in Jodha Akbar the quadriplegic magician in Guzaarish, the angry young man of Agneepath, to superhero Krrish, Hrithik continues to spin his magic at the BO. Agneepath and Krrish 3 were the highest grossing all-time films of Bollywood. He and his father Rakesh Roshan have been a winning combination. The only time they went wrong was in Kites, which Roshan senior produced. The actor who believes in doing only one movie at a time is now teaming up with his Jodha Akbar director Ashutosh Gowariker for Mohenja-Daro. Given their track record they are likely to recreate or perhaps surpass the success of Jodha Akbar.
Mumbai: Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant on Saturday joined the Republican Party of India (RPI) as the national executive president of its women’s wing.
RPI chief Ramdas Athawale said she was a known face and a household name across the country
“I am not scared of anyone… If required, I am ready to contest the forthcoming Maharashtra assembly elections against (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief) Raj Thackeray,” Sawant said soon after joining the RPI.
Raj Thackeray had recently announced his plans to contest the ensuing state assembly elections and is even prepared to become his party’s chief ministerial nominee.
Sawant’s statement would help strengthen the RPI’s alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena, whose chief Uddhav Thackeray is also being pushed by his party to become chief ministerial candidate.
Welcoming Sawant into the party, RPI chief Ramdas Athawale said she was a known face and a household name across the country. “Besides being a popular actress, she is also a dedicated social worker. In fact, we have some artistes in the RPI, who are engaged in social work.”
Explaining the high-level position given to Sawant despite her political inexperience, RPI spokesperson Mayur Borkar said she was a known crowd-puller, a trait which would come in handy to the National Democratic Alliance in the northern states during elections.
Just before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Sawant – who starred in the Bigg Boss One in 2006 – wholeheartedly supported the BJP and Narendra Modi.
However, when the BJP overlooked her for a ticket, Sawant floated her own political party – Rashtriya Aam Party – and contested the polls from the Mumbai North-West constituency, securing just 1,995 votes.

Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar haven’t teamed up for a long time and we all know why. Though this jodi sizzled on the big screen, the duo stopped working together after rumours about them being romantically involved in real life started doing the rounds. This was back in 2005 and since then PC and Akki have maintained safe distance personally and professionally. However, we now hear the two actors will be seen in a music video. Apparently, both Priyanka and Akshay have verbally agreed to the video. Is this video for Ms Chopra’s music album, we wonder? Though there has been no official announcement regarding the same so far, we are looking forward to this collaboration. After all, the Exotic babe did share a crackling chemistry with AK, no?
That’s not all! It is being said that Khiladi Kumar wanted Priyanka to play the lead in his next Singh Is Bling. Reports also claim that the duo along with director Prabhu Dheva had a closed door meeting for the same. That’s news! However, the dusky beauty’s spokesperson rubbished all the reports and said to a leading tabloid, “No such film has been offered to Priyanka.”
Break-ups are quite common in tinsel town. While a few have quietly moved on, certain relationships have taken an ugly turn. The latest in this list is Preity Zinta, who has accused her ex-beau Ness Wadia of 'outraging her modesty'. Ness, for his part, has denied her allegations.
We take a look at some of the celebrities whose break-ups have been widely discussed.
Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia
Considered one of the most good looking couple, Preity's relationship with businessman Ness Wadia was one of the most talked about in Bollywood. The lovey-dovey couple was seen hand-in-hand at most public events. They took their relationship to the next level when they bought an IPL team together. However, their relationship didn't last long and the couple called it quits a few years ago. While they still chose to own the IPL team together, their relationship took an ugly turn when Preity filed a complaint of abuse against her former beau. She accused Ness of grabbing her hand and abusing her during a cricket match. While Ness has issued a statement saying her allegations are "totally false and baseless," an investigation is on to find the truth.
While both actors have moved on in their lives, Aishwarya and Salman's relationship was one of the most talked about in Bollywood. They met during the shoot of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and fell in love. Aishwarya broke up with Salman after he reportedly confessed that he was cheating on her. However, Aishwarya issued a press statement in which she said that the actor reportedly 'suspected her of having affairs and even assaulted her' on a few occasions. Aishwarya was later rumoured to be dating Vivek Oberoi and things turned ugly when Vivek called for a press meet and alleged that Salman had threatened him.
Ranvir Shorey and Pooja Bhatt
Pooja Bhatt has had a rather controversial life and her relationship with Ranvir Shorey made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The duo got close during the shoot of Jism in 2004. It was rumoured that the couple used to spend a lot of time together while filming the movie and even started living together. However, reports of their fallout emerged when allegations of excessive drinking and violence were made. The scene turned ugly when Ranvir accused Pooja's brother Rahul of assaulting him. While Pooja issued a statement that he (Rahul) tried to protect her, Ranvir had a different version altogether.
Rita Ora and Rob Kardashian
Rita Ora and Rob Kardashian's relationship turned nasty when the latter tweeted about her unfaithful ways. He tweeted, "She cheated on me with nearly 20 dudes while we were together. But I mean 20?" This was followed by a series of nasty tweets about the British singer-songwriter and actress by Rob before he decided to delete them. But much before that, his tweets went viral, grabbing eyeballs and making their relationship popular on social media.
Chris Brown and Rihanna
They sure are in a love-hate relationship, most of the time. But Rihanna's complaint against former beau Chris Brown for alleged domestic violence shocked fans as it came at a time when both were thought to be head over heels in love. The assault happened when Rihanna found messages of 'another woman' in Brown's phone. It was reported that an angry Brown had banged Rihanna's head against the window and threatened to kill her. Later, the couple was seen together again and their on and off relationship continues to make headlines.
Even after being praise for his role in Humshakals, the actor’s latest release has been panned by the critics and fans alike. Is that why he is contemplating moving to direction? Find out…
Actor-producer Ritesh Deshmukh says that he would love to direct a film in the future. ”Film making is a great process…acting is great and I am enjoying myself in production (too). As a producer you own the entire film, while director is the creator. I feel I should direct a film but not right now I am not ready but in future I will direct a film,” Ritesh told.
As a producer, he has received his first National Award for his second Marathi production ventureYellow at the 61st National Film Awards ceremony, May 3. The actor, son of late political leader Vilasrao Deshmukh, also feels that as a citizen one must know about their country but not sure whether he will join the politics in near future or not. ”Whether I want to join it or not is a different thing but as a citizen you must know about your country. Being aware is important and having an opinion is very important,” said Ritesh who made his Bollywood acting debut with Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003.
The film also helped him find his soul mate in his co-star Genelia D’Souza, with whom he tied the knot in 2012.
Farah Khan’s brother may have tasted success with Housefulland Housefull 2 but his latest comic caper hasn’t managed to impress the critics at all. Is it time for Sajid Khan to give up on comedy genre? Absolutely yes…
We all know slapstick comedy is Sajid Khan’s forte. After Heyy Babyy did well at the box office, Khan struck gold with the Housefull franchise. But then the filmmaker ventured into a different territory and gave us Himmatwala which turned out to be dud. And now Khan has made his comeback with Humshakals which is out-an-out a comedy. But sadly the film is nowhere close to being a rib tickler. In fact, many have thrashed the movie left right and center on the social networking site Twitter. Well, we aren’t surprised coz Humshakals is indeed like an endurance test which I am sure very few can pass. So has Sajid Khan lost his comic charm? His latest offering seems to be nothing less than a torture so the answer would be – Hell yeah! But apart from that, we list down three reasons why Mr Sajid Khan should bid adieu to his favourite genre ASAP.
Firstly, we don’t understand how Humshakals can be a tribute to comic legends like Kishore Kumar and Jim Carrey… even in the humblest way. Coz vulgarism was never a part of any Kishore Da films and Humshakals thrives on it. And if Khan thinks his latest venture is like Jim Carrey’s Dumband Dumber then wethinks he is totally wrong. You can’t make a Hindi version of a Hollywood film which released 25 years ago that too in typical Bollywood style.
Also, a comic film is supposed to make people laugh and not offend. But Jacqueline Fernandez’s ex-boyfriend doesn’t get the point it seems. Watch Humshakals and you’ll agree with us.
Lastly, “The biggest achievement of #Humshakals is that it has made even Himmatwala look like a blockbuster.” There you go..that’s the most important reason why Sajid Khan should stop making comedy movies. FYI – The above comment was posted by someone on Twitter.
