Angry Sonam says KHOOBSURAT song not a copy

c Sonam
Bollywood style diva Sonam Kapoor’s latest film ‘Khoobsurat’, whose trailer was launched on Monday, has landed in a controversy already! Apparently the film has a song ‘Anjan ki seeti mein maro man dole…’ which is featured in the trailer sounds very similar to one of Anu Malik’s previous songs.
Reacting to the news of her latest song being taken from Alka Yagnik’s track composed by Anu Malik for Jeetendra-Jaya Prada starrer, MAA, Sonam Kapoor took to Twitter on Tuesday morning where she said that the song is in fact a traditional Rajasthani folk song and not a copy of Anu Malik song.
An angry Sonam Kapoor wrote, “It’s a pity you don’t do research before writing articles, ‘Anjun ki seeti’ is an old Rajasthani folk song!” she further wrote, “It’s a pity journalists…write articles without an iota of responsibility. A few bad apples really spoil the basket.”
Soon after that, Sona Mohapatra backed Sonam’s point as she tweeted, “Anjan ki seeti mein maro man dole is a traditional Rajasthani folk song and not an Anu Malik song and it’s expected that a paper should research such facts before taking Any Malik or the internet seriously.”
According to reports ‘Khoobsurat’, which is a remake of veteran filmmaker Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1980 hit film by the same name featuring Rekha, has already bought the rights of the original Rajasthani song from its music label.
Meanwhile, the film’s trailer has received 442,833 hits in just 24 hours! ‘Khoobsurat’ is co-produced by Sonam’s sister Rhea and Disney.
During the trailer launch of the film Rhea Kapoor, who had made her debut as a producer in 2010 with Aisha, said that she was not interested in making “depressing” films but ones having an exhilarating theme. “I am quite excited about ‘Khoobsurat’. There were challenges but it was fun. I want to make happy-fun films. I don’t want to make depressing films,” Rhea told the reporters.
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the film also stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan as the lead with Sonam Kapoor. ‘Khoobsurat’ is a fairy-tale rom-com and is set to release on September 19.

The Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania actor who was hanging out last night with her dear friends was seen wearing rather funky accessories

Alia Bhatt was seen at a posh restaurant last night probably celebrating the success of her latest release with Karan Johar and Sidharth Malhotra. The actor was seen in a casual avatar, in a baby pink tank top, topped with a printed scarf, washed out denims and black booties.
But what really grabbed eyeballs was the chunky accessories Alia was sporting in both her hands. In one hand, Alia wore a gorgeous golden statement ring and in the other hand she wore a dainty bracelet link chain and ring.
We loved how she kept the look simple but decked up her pretty hands! Alia is known to dress minimally and she hardly upsets the fashion police. We think that her trendsetting big ring and bracelet link chain ring fashion will catch on!

Who will star in Dhyan Chand biopic; Shah Rukh Khan or Ranbir Kapoor?

At a time when Bollywood is smitten by sportsmen spirit and their lives, news of new film being made on hockey legend Dhyan Chand are surfacing. Be it Bhaag Milkha Bhaag or the latest on the block Mary Kom, filmmakers are in awe of sports personalities.
According to latest reports the film will be helmed by Ila Bedi Dutta, who penned Agneepath, and will be produced by Pooja Shetty.
A leading publication reports that Shah Rukh Khan had been approached for this role, but the filmmakers haven't heard from him for a while now. And now, they are keen on getting Ranbir Kapoor on the block for the main lead role.
Earlier, Ila Bedi was quoted as saying, "I met Shah Rukh to discuss the project. To us, he is the perfect choice for Dhyan Chand. Though we haven't heard from him yet, we expect him to sign the dotted line."
Also, Abhishek Bachchan, SRK's co-star in their next film Happy New Year, feels that Shah Rukh can do justice to the role.
At Pro Kabaddi League, Abhishek Bachchan, who owns Jaipur Pink Panthers, said, "A sportsman whose life will be fantastic on screen is Major Dhyan Chand. It will be an unbelievable story. These are the stories that need to be told. I told Shah Rukh Khan (during the shoot of Happy New Year) to make a film on it and play the protagonist, because he looks a lot like him. If you see his photo, you ust need to change Shah Rukh's hair a bit. Shah Rukh was a hockey player. I think he will be fantastic."

Well... lets see, who confirms the news first. But the question is, whom do you want to see as Dhayan Chand on the big screen?

Special premiere of 'Finding Fanny' 17 days before actual release

  • finding-fanny-movie-poster
Homi Adajania's upcoming film, Finding Fanny, has already grabbed a lot of eyeballs, given the brilliant response to the film's official trailer. Now, in an unprecedented move of sorts, the director and the entire team have decided to do something that has never been tried before inBollywood.
The Finding Fanny team has decided to hold a special premiere of the film on August 25, seventeen days ahead of its official release. The move brings with it a lot of risk, given the fact that people's responses might deter its growth at the box office, but this has hardly affected the team spirit. The confident team is all smiles with the movie being shown to select audiences two weeks before the release.
Fanny Fernandes is a quirky, satirical tale about five individuals, who find a meaning to their otherwise mundane lives, in the course of their relentless search for Stefanie Fernandes aka Fanny! The film, starring Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor alongside veteran actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia and Pankaj Kapur is due for release on September 12.

Top 6 Eid Songs for the festive season

  • salman-khan-in-a-song-from-kickSalman Khan still from 'Jumme ki Raat'
It is the time of the year that all of us really look forward to. Whether it is about the delectable Mughlai food or the entertaining Bollywood films, Eid has been a festival that brings with it a flavour of celebration and rejoicing.
On this auspicious occasion of Eid, we bring you 10 songs that sets the right mood for the day. Eid Mubarak!
Arziyan (Delhi 6):
With the Jama Masjid being captured beautifully through the camera angles, this song is the most perfectly pitched song for the festive season. Picturised during an actual Eid prayer, Rakesh Mehra's film might not have got the honours as expected, but the visual treat that this song had along with the soulful rendition by two musical stalwarts- Kailash Kher and Javed Ali, stood out beautifully. Both a treat to the eyes and the ears!
Noor-e-Khuda (My Name is Khan):
An enchanting ode to the Almighty, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy created a gem in 'Noor-e-Khuda'. The lovely, melodious number was magical on the spiritual level and it somehow helped us transcend to another level altogether. A beautifully penned prayer to God, the song tried breaking the boundaries of nationality, communalism and race with a powerful message. That one scene where Shah Rukh Khan's Rizwan does the namaaz on the road is capable of moving one to tears.
Yoon Shabnami (Sawaariya):
Sawaariya definitely was a dumb show but Sanjay Leela Bhansali painted an artistic picture of Eid with the 'Yoon Shabnami' number. Flowing white muslim kurtas with that trademark taqiyah, the song featured a bunch of Muslims swaying to the number in an exceptionally picturesque number. Sanjay Bhansali's cinematic brilliance came out to the fore in the way he portrayed the earnest wait for the moon and the delight that comes post it.
Bismillah (Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbaai Dobaara):
Akshay Kumar in a Pathani suit. Check. An urban peppy number. Check. The flavour of Eid popped in. Check. 'Bismillah' was a total hit!
Jashn (Bobby jasoos):
The song in itself is titled 'Jashn' which means celebration. With Vidya Balan calling everyone to join her for the Jashn on Eid, this song is a must have on the Eid playlist!
Jumme ki Raat (Kick):
No Eid is complete without a Salman Khan film and a spectacularly catchy Salman Khan number. This Eid, everyone is certainly getting their Kick from this raunchy, high octane groovy number that has sent the nation into a tizzy. Busting music charts all over, this is the hot and happening song of the season, for this year at least!

Madhuri Dixit Nene’s desi look

Madhuri Dixit Nene’s desi look

This week on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7, Madhuri turns on her charm with a Payal Singhal lehenga

Madhuri Dixit Nene’s desi look at the latest shoot of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 was, definitely, a departure from her usual glam style, but a sure heart warmer, nevertheless. The actor sashayed a powder blue and golden Payal Singhal lehenga paired with a skin-matched sheer-shoulder blouse- a hit.

MD perfectly complemented the outfit with long earrings and bracelets. And rounded off the look with a one-side-pinned-up hair do. The red lips work well in breaking the light tone monotony. All in all, the look was simple, yet refreshing.

Here is a look at tweeting patterns of Bollywood celebrities

Salman is most interactive while Aamir is the least!
A lookAamir Khan
Twitter id
: @aamir_khan
Tweets: 142
Followers: 7.53 million followers
Twitter personality: The reticent Aamir Khan, who talks to the media only when his films are up for a release follows the same modus operandi on Twitter too. No wonder then, the actor, who does only one film a year has posted only 142 posts so far! Incidentally, he was coaxed into joining Twitterverse by Amitabh Bachchan four years ago. Aamir was said to have been put off by the trolls he got on the site and kept away for the longest. He was back on the networking site when he was coming up with his TV show Satyamev Jayate and since then has been taking to Twitter only during his or his friends' releases. He went all out to promote Salman Khan's Jai Ho urging his followers to watch the film and is now promoting Kick. Even Rani Mukerji's upcoming film Mardaani's trailer has found a mention with Aamir calling it 'awesome'. He has been using the platform to shower praise on films and performances that he's liked like Queen and Marathi film Fandry. He also posted a picture of his meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His last tweet invited people to watch a charity football match organised by his daughter Ira.
Tweeting style: To the point and neat, he dotts all his i's and crosses the t's.
Interactivity: He was more interactive immediately after he joined Twitter, but after that has been responding only to tweets from fellow celebrities. For instance a couple of years ago, for Katrina's birthday he tweeted, 'Hey Salman! What's up? Wish Katrina from me too.' When Lata Mangeshkar praised his show Sataymev Jayate, he tweeted back, "Thank you Didi for your generous words. Am absolutely thrilled that you are watching SMJ, and that you like it so much! Love.A." Needless to say his other followers who had tweeted about the show felt neglected and wrote, "Hey, its not fair. Now that you're here, you gotta reply to All of us, not just Lata Mangeshkar ji."
Shah Rukh Khan

: @iamsrk
Tweets: 7,389
Followers: 8.32 million
Twitter personality: King Khan has a love-hate relationship with the Twitteratis. His first tweet when he joined Twitter in January 2010 was "Being extremely shy, I never thought I would be here (on Twitter). But my friend Karan Johar insisted that I should learn to share my life." And that is something SRK has done on a regular basis - shared his life. Besides tweeting about his films, Shah Rukh Khan has been writing about his thoughts, his day-to-day routine, his kids, his love for sports, etc, giving a glimpse into his life away from the arc lights. A prolific tweeter, SRK had taken a brief sabbatical from the site when his interview to a magazine about his being a Muslim and his patriotism doubted by some bigots got him a lot of flak on Twitter. Four months later he returned to Twitter thanks to his Chennai Express co-star Deepika Padukone who posted a picture from the film, which SRK retweeted. Since then the Badshah has been posting tweets regularly, the last one being about how he had a good day "like the laughter of his children, even untouched by me."
Tweeting style: Witty, at times self-deprecatory and sarcastic, SRK's tweets mirror his personality. Sports, current affairs, and of course films are a constant fixture on his account. When Karan Johar admitted on twitter that he is watching football only because the world is, SRK tweeted back saying, "It's ok to accept.V all like what's 'happening'. Just so u know Germany in White Argentima in Blue. The round thing is the ball." Need we say more?
Interactivity: When a fan posted her picture with SRK in the Kolkata Knight Rider uniform, SRK replied, "Thank you that's very sweet." The fan is yet to get over the fact that she's got a reply and has even tweeted that! That apart, SRK has been posting his sketches drawn by his and commenting on each. That he reads each and every tweet posted by his followers, even if he doesn't replay to all is evident from his post, "A request to all. By sending me stuff over and over again it becomes difficult to see other tweets. I take notice of all even written once." He, however, tweets and replies to celebrities.
Salman Khan
Twitter id
: @BeingSalmanKhan
Tweets: 41,347
Followers: 7.48 million
Twitter personality: Emerging as the actor with maximum tweets so far the superstar who has been on Twitter since 2010 has used the platform to not only promote his film, but also his charity organisation Being Human. He has also used it to justify his stance on various issues especially during Bigg Boss, taking subtle digs (the recent fracas with photographers), etc and promoting his friends' films too. Salman had quit Twitter within four months of joining when his comments on the Mumbai Terror Attack to a Pakistani channel sparked a controversy. He later apologised and was back
Tweeting style: He tweets like he talks. Extremely casual, with a mix of Hindi and English, even Marathi, his tweets are sometimes funny, sometimes droll. When a paper carried a news about photographers banning him he just tweeted Ha ha ha with a snapshot of the article!
Intereactivity: Khan may not individually reply to his followers' tweets but he definitely makes a note of what they are saying and responds to it collectively.
Amitabh Bachchan
Twitter id
: @SrBachchan
Tweets: 32,259
Followers: 9.43 million
Twitter personality: He was the first superstar to start a blog of his own, so it was a matter of time before he joined Twitter. He writes about his day, the shoot, posts pictures from his films, and also pens some philosophical thoughts and phrases. He also uses it to make important announcements like declaring the name of his granddaughter Aaradhya. Constantly updating his posts through the, the 71-year-old legend can give the tech-savvy youngsters a run for their tweets.
Tweeting style: His tweets reflect his wry sense of humour and dignity. Sample this: " Long years ago when in my 30's a close friend told me: 'You will make a very interesting old man' Interesting gone, old remains." And yes, he never uses abbreviated words - his sentences are grammatically proper and complete.
Interactivity: The Shahenshah is the one of the most interactive celebrity on Twitter taking out time to reply to most of his followers' tweets. From wishing them on their birthdays to giving them hugs, Big B does it all.
Ajay Devgn
Twitter id
: @ajaydevgn
Tweets: 995
Followers: 2.25 million
Twitter personality: The Singham star has been on Twitter for five years now, but Ajay seems to be active on the site only close to his film releases. Known to be a man of few words, Ajay has posted only 995 tweets in five years. Lately his account is flooded with posters of his upcoming film Singham Returns. Yes, he does tweet about his family, especially daughter Nysa who seems to have impressed him with the lingo, kids use these days. The proud papa has been asking his followers to give the full forms of some of the short forms used by his daughter and her friends.
Tweeting style: Matter-of-fact and informative about his films and friends.
Interactivity: Suffice it to say he pretty much keeps to himself even on Twitter! When on his birthday a fan drew his picture in rangoli he tweeted, "Dis guy sat outside 4hrs an painted dis on d street wit rangoli. So much luv. Truly grateful 2 all of u'all for dat."
Hrithik Roshan
Twitter id
: @iHrithik
Tweets: 1,411
Followers: 6 million
Twitter personality: Hrithik is slightly better than Ajay with 1,411 tweets since he joined in February 2010. Off late the actor has been taking to the site regularly and posting pictures from his films, getting nostalgic about Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara suggesting a sequel to director Zoya! On a serious note he has paid his respects to the firemen who risked their lives to douse the fire at the building in which his father Rakesh Roshan owns an office. He has also been tweeting about love, life, friendship and relationships.
Tweeting style: His tweets reflect the mood he is in. Take this for instance: "if ur uncom4table wth d way things r, reframe it. Even something huge cn look really small. Life is al abt perspective!" which he tweeted last month. His sense of humour surfaces with friends though. When Nargis Fakhri tweeted that she wanted to go to Disneyland when he posted his pictures from there he tweeted, "yeah. careful if ur coming tho, People may mistake u as the main park attraction!! Safety not guaranteed!"
Interactivity: Must say when he is in the mood, the Greek God sees fit to respond to many of his six million followers, not just friends and colleagues from the industry. When a fan tweeted about him being an inspiration, he tweeted back saying, "Now U inspire me back! thank you my friend."
Abhishek Bachchan
Twitter id
: @juniorbachchan
Tweets: 18,903
Followers: 4.51 million
Twitter personality: One of the earliest film stars to get onto the Twitter bandwagon, Abhishek mostly tweets about sports - be it football, cricket or kabbadi. The latter has taken up much space on his account, as he owns a kabbadi team now. He posts encouraging tweets on others' films apart from promoting his films, of course. He also puts up interesting titbits about his day on the sets or his travel. That junior Bachchan keeps himself abreast with the happenings around the world is reflected in his tweets whether it's about the Malaysian aircraft being gunned down, reminding people to vote or about the importance of earth hour.
Tweeting style: Lively and the on-the-go, Abhishek's tweet buzz with happenings. Add to it is wry sense of humour and it becomes engaging.
Interactivity: Abhishek has been actively interacting with his fans lately. He takes the bouquets and the brickbats sportingly. When a fan tweeted asking him to give a hit movie, "Thak gya hu tera pakau movie dekh dekh ke..." he replied, "Sorry about that. By the way, koi force nahin kar raha aapko. Good luck." Now that's we call giving it back in style!
Akshay Kumar
Twitter id
: @akshaykumar
Tweets: 2196
Followers: 5.26 million
Twitter personality: The Khiladi is among those actors, who are most active on Twitter during their film releases. Considering Akshay always has more than a couple of films releasing in a year, the ones he stars in and the ones he produces, one would expect the actor to have a lot of tweets. However, Akshay who joined Twitter way back in 2009 has only 2196 tweets so far. His tweets are all about his upcoming films, ads and some videos and articles that have impressed him.
Tweeting style: Simple and straight, his tweets are sans any frills.
Interactivity: The actor recently retweeted a fan's tweet who was entreating him to either reply or retweet! Not only that Akshay makes it a point to respond to as many people as possible making him one of the most interactive Twitteratis. When a fan tweeted to him saying he had broken his heart by not replying to him he promptly said, 'I don't mean to break your heart, chin up my friend." It's obvious that Akshay cares for his fans, which is what makes him their numero uno khiladi!

Bollywood actresses get quirky with selfies on twitter

Selfies are old news and so are actresses sporting pouts. But when you combine the two you stumble across the latest trend our B-Town hotties are indulging in. Every actress, who is active on the various social media platforms, has quite a few varieties of such pictures to brag about. Here's our pick from what our actresses have shared.

The latest actress to join the pout selfie bandwagon is the begum of Pataudi, who posted a picture where she is seen pouting away to glory. In spite of being someone who is known for her pouty pictures, this particular pose is beyond the usual fare, even by her standards. In the pic, she is seen sharing screen space with Yo Yo Honey Singh with whom she is currently associating for Singham Returns.

Relatively new on the block, Alia too loves sharing selfies of not just her but co-stars, co-workers and fans who she has been hanging out with. Selfies from promotional tours et al also include the pouty wonders from the Bhatt babe.

A serial tweeter of selfies etc, Fakhri is extremely active online. New rule book for Bollywood MPs

NaMo asks actors who are MPs to refrain from the 'bollywood lifestyle'
Prime minister Narendra Modi's promised 'achche din' certainly doesn't refer to Bollywood's appetite for late-night partying and binging on the good times.
According to sources, the new BJP parliamentarians in the Modi government have been strictly instructed to go easy on the 'usual Bollywood lifestyle'.
An MP says, "We are not supposed to do live shows and stage concerts. Even the films we sign have to be politically correct in every sense of the word. We've been told to be careful about the films we sign. And a sex comedy is definitely a no-no. In fact, Pareshji would have undoubtedly turned downOh My God if he had to do it post his election as a BJP legislator."
Adds the source, "While Bollywood's parliamentarians' social life has been drastically curtailed almost to nil, we've also been asked to make sure we attend every parliamentary session. Gone are the days when actors were seen in the two Houses depending on their other commitments. Now all the parliamentarians from the entertainment industry must attend every session. Absentee parliamentarians are a thing of the past. Break the rules, and you may face disciplinary action.

On Priyanka Chopra's wishlist!

B-Town is abuzz with the rumour that Priyanka Chopra has bought the Dariya Mahal bungalow in Versova. The actress has been on the lookout for beachfront property for the last three years. This particular 15-bedroom bungalow is the last of the original Seven Bungalows from which the locality derived its name and was designed by British architect Claude Batley for wealthy textile merchant Maneklala Chunilal Chinai.
The bungalow is rented out for shooting and almost every A-list actor has shot there. PC is probably the only Bollywood star yet to have shot at the location, which is popular with Bollywood producers, and which was built in the 1930s.
A source says that she expressed a keen interest through common friends in meeting Maneklal's grandson Harish Chinai so that see could see the bungalow. "She has fallen in love with it's antiquity and it appears to be on her wishlist of dream bungalows. However, the owners are low-key and want the property to remain in the family, so she might have to let go of this dream pad. But negotiations are on." The actress lives in a building in Lokhandwala but is looking for a bungalow because it offers more privacy. The property is estimated at over Rs100 crore. It is also learnt that she has been considering Mayur Mahal in Juhu, also rented for shootings, as an option. In the past actors like Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan have flirted with the idea of buying that property but the deal fell through both times.
