Shah Rukh Khan inspired Sidharth Malhotra for Ek Villain?

Shah Rukh Khan inspired Sidharth Malhotra for Ek Villain?

The actor is playing a grey character in his latest release and he reveals what inspired him to do the role

Sidharth Malhotra is on a high with the response that his latest release Ek Villain has received. The Hasee Toh Phasee actor is playing a character with grey shades in Ek Villain. He shed his chocolate boy image for the film and it’s working in his favour, we must say. While most newbies would stay away from doing a character like that at the beginning of their career, Sidharth revealed what inspired him to do the film.
Reportedly, Sidharth watched SRK’s Darr and Baazigar for his role in Ek Villain. He said, “A lot of people thought it was suicidal for me to play a dark character at such an early stage of my career. But I had a perfect example in SRK (Shah Rukh Khan), who played negative characters in Darr, Baazigar and Anjaam towards the beginning of his career. So in a way, he inspired me to take the plunge. Back then, he was the romantic hero of Hindi cinema who managed to pull off a negative character with élan. My character in Ek Villain is my tribute to him.”

On being asked about being compared to Shah Rukh, Sidharth told a website, “I have a long way to go before I dare to feel like the new age SRK. However, I have to admit that being compared to him is an all time high.” Well, it’s certainly a big thing to be compared to King Khan, isn’t it? We wish the Ek Villain actor good luck for his upcoming projects and hope that he continues to impress his with different roles
