The Telugu version of Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by the star is breaking all records
Last two months have been nothing short of bliss for Akkineni Nagarjuna. First, his film Manamwith late ANR and son Naga Chaitanya went on to be blockbuster hit. And now, his first gig as TV host has Andhra glued to their television sets. Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu, a Telugu version ofKaun Banega Crorepati, has broken all TV records and has become the most watched TV show in Andhra Pradesh. According to Television Audience Measurement (TAM), the Television Viewer Rating (TVR) of the show has registered 10.7 — the highest so far by any Telugu show.
Nagarjuna, while interacting with media said,” I may have given them some anxious moments and made them sweat but I love being their best friend and steer them to winning as much money as possible. I am overjoyed that more and more homes are watching MEK.” The superstar turned TV anchor also mentioned that facing tense contestants and easing out their pressure was one of the biggest challenges of the show. “Audience and millions of television viewers are on the edge of their seat that adds to the excitement of this game. Easing the tension of the participants is one of the biggest challenges I find as an anchor”, added the Geethanjali actor.
With celebrities like Amala Paul, Shriya Saran and Vidya Balan attending MEK and the presence of a new celeb in every episode is making sure that Nagarjuna’s TV show stays at top of the charts. We hope that Nagarjuna retains the midas touch and probably passes a little to his son Naga Chaitanya, whose latest release Autonagar Surya is having a hard time at box office.
