Bollywood stars condemn shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Mumbai

Bollywood celebrities Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Bhatt have expressed anguish over the the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 in Ukraine, calling it "disturbing" and "inhuman".
The Malaysia Airlines plane was blown up over Eastern Ukraine by a sophisticated missile believed to be fired by pro-Russia rebels, killing all 298 people on board.
"Shocking. Tragic.. Where is the world going? A cry for justice and a prayer for all the victims and their families...deeply disturbed," Priyanka posted on Twitter.

Abhishek tweeted his condolences for the families of the victims just ahead of boarding a flight.
"Tragic news about MH17. Prayers with the families. Have to admit, not the best piece of news to get just as one is boarding a flight," the 38-year-old 'Dhoom' star tweeted.

Actor Shahid Kapoor called the incident inhuman, saying, "MH17. Sad, tragic and very disturbing. Prayers for all those lives lost. War is not human. Violence never the solution."

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt expressed his angst over the incident by sharing a quote of African-American Civil Rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred," he posted.

Bhatt's actress daughter Alia Bhatt wondered if flying was safe anymore.
"Is flying even safe anymore? Innocent lives taken so lightly? Pray for MH17. Pray for Gaza, It's tragic and just messed up," the 21-year-old actress said.

Director Karan Johar said he was shocked after hearing the news of the tragic incident and prayed for the families of the victims who lost their lives.
"Absolutely shocked to hear about the Malaysian Airline air crash... immediate thoughts are with the families of the loved ones... too too sad," he posted.

Director-actor Farhan Akhtar and actress Bipasha Basu echoed Johar's feelings.
"Deepest condolences to all affected by the Malaysian Airlines tragedy," Akhtar said.

Bipasha tweeted, "Tragic and disheartening news about the Malaysian Airlines crash. Strength to all the family members of the victims."

Actor-director Anupam Kher condoled the loss of innocent lives."God needs to come back from his long leave. Innocent lives need him," he said.
